Default Power Shifting

This may be a trivial question, but what is Power Shifting exactly? Is it Pushing you clutch in, raising the RPM's then dropping a gear? I honstly do not know.

To be honest, it's never really been clear to me either. I believe it is when you shift gears without using the clutch. You can time it just right so you can jam it from one gear to the next.

Power shifting is when you push in the clutch and change gears but never let go of the gas.

No, you can't shift into another gear without the clutch. Thats the point of a synchronizer, only in Semi's is that possible. Man, someone should answer this and make it a sticky is so many people aren't sure.

Want to bet? I've seen my friend do it in his ford ranger. It's definately not good for the transmission. no doubt about it. But I KNOW that is possible. You have to time it just right where the gears are naturally in synch.
