S197 vs. SN95

This thread is showing how little Mustang owner's know about not only their own cars and the history of them, but also of cars made outside of Ford.
GTR (or any Skyline) isn't a V6.... it's an inline 6.
For those die hard V8 guys, remember the V6 started putting down equal power to the pushrod 5.0L back in 1999... and the current 3.7L V6 is on par with the previous production year's V8. Don't get hung up on cylinder count for defining your power.

This thread made my forehead and hand hurt from all the facepalming. I'm sure guys mean well but I'm with lilRoush, learn your history.
Every new iteration of something (cars included) had better be "better" than the previous, otherwise what's the point of making a new one.
After driving a friends '09GT and test driving the new '11GT I recognize that the S197 platform is superior to the SN95's that I prefer and at the same time I realize the reason I prefer the SN95's is primarily sentimental...they're the ones I wanted when I was just arriving at driving age.
I'll keep my Cobra, but knowing how far behind the curve it already is I fully intend to get a '14 once they arrive. I'll use my Cobra to quell my modding urges (in an attempt to keep my eventual '14 near stock)and have fun making sure it can "keep up" with the new toys constantly being offered.

I was a die-hard Chevy guy with 4 Camaro's and a Chevelle before I bought my 05 GT. This is my first Mustang and absolutely love it. It was the classic look with modern technology that sold me. Although I have never owned or driven a SN95 or New Edge, I think the S197 is the better Mustang. Just my .02

One of my good friends has a NE GT, I have driven it quite a few times. I don't really like the interior and the Mach sound system is terrible. But the way it drives is nice although its completely different from an s197.
All in all I like my s197 V6 over the NEs, but the look of the NE has really grown on me since I have been around Mustangs.
My suspension seems to be much better with my car, and the interior is much better, even though I have cloth seats. But then again the 2010+ interior is much better than mine, so no offense to any NE or previous generations. They are still great cars.
