Check Engine Light/O2/PCM
After graduating from college and getting my frist job I have finally bought what I wanted since I was 16. I got a 97' GT-5-speed convertible. The check engine light was on when I bought it, I was told that the O2 sensor(s) were bad, no biggie cuz they cut me a decent deal. I had my buddy that works at a ford dealership service department check the codes, and he ended up changing 2 O2 sensors. The check engine light went off, but then came on about 70 miles later. Now he says it could be another O2 sensor or the PCM. It seems to run fine except for the check engine light, and it doesn't have too much power in first unless you really get on it. What do you guys think? The PCM could be pretty expensive to fix. Also if it is the PCM is there a performance version out there somewhere, I've read alot about chips and programers, but I doubt those would work if the PCM itself was bad. Thanks a lot.

RE: Check Enggine Light/O2/PCM
ya i bought a code puller its a cheap $30 but it works just as good as the $100 one except it doesnt have digital read out it deeps at you and its still easy to tell the given code or your buddy should be able to pull the code for you at the dealership
