Default 71 MACH 1 NO GAS TO CARB

Hello, I am working on my FNL's 71 mach 1 351 C 4v Ram Air car and I'm not getting fuel to the carb. Let me set things up.
The car had been sitting for a few years after I got it running and the gas went bad. We rebuilt the carb but I had to empty the tank so I let the motor do the work. I hooked up an old fuel line and turned the motor over until no more fuel came out. I put in new fuel, hooked it back up and now no fuel. I pulled the line from the carb and tried and nothing. What gives.

I know nothing about a Ford what so ever so all the help will be appreciated. I'm not sure where the fuel pump is located on this engine, is the fuel filter only located next to the carb? This car is all original nothing has been modified.

The car only has 53,000 miles on it and when it run's it RUN's.

Mechanical on the side of the front timing cover. Probably needs to be primed, ie you need fuel in the line from the pump to the tank to get the pump to start pulling fuel. The filter should be somewhere between the pump and carb.

So what would be the best way to do that? There isn't much room under the hood.

got it running but must still have a lot of bad fuel. What would be the best way to empty the tank?

It should have a drain plug on it somewhere. Be safe though, even bad fuel is unhealthy and flammible.

We'll no drain plug but I did get it empty. Now I'm going to remove it and clean it out. I found some stuff settled at the bottom of the tank.
