the EFI can put out more power for street use, but look at NASCAR and drag racing, they all use carbs. that should say something.
Yes it does. it says that NASCAR mandates the use of carbs, as does many of the classes in drag racing, there are however classes like Top Fuel and some others that use injection. Carbs are great for all out drag racing performance on a budget. I was a die hard carb guy for years, but now that I have really taken the time to learn about fuel injection and how to tune it, I would not go back.

I like EFI. The tuning is more precise cause its computer controlled...and I believe its better for emissions also

carb is just more simple, you don't have to know a whole lot about cars and can change most of the stuff yourself without having to use a programmer or anything like that. not only that but i like the way the supercharger looking on a carberated engine anyways.

and the tuner is HOW much??? i'm talking tuning with a friggin pocket knife!
I'd love to know how you're adjusting your timing & fuel pressures with a pocket knife

Yes the tuner isn't cheap. But... Take an EFI car & yank off the fuel injection & distributor, and replace it with a carb & regular distributor. Chances are you're gonna LOSE horsepower (and fuel economy, but so what right?) so you get to spend some of the money you saved on getting that HP back in order to be as competitive. Me I'd rather just plug in the programmer

As far as the older 4bbl carbs being easier to work on, yes I guess that's true. But a lot of it is still a guessing game with testing out different jets & distributer curves etc to get what you want out of it. Then drive to a different altitude & ya gotta do it all over again.
