Default New JVC deck

I'm looking at for X-Mas buying the new JVC Arsenal KD-SH9750. When I was on Crutchfield it said I would need to replace all factory amps for it to work. I have the Mach 460, are they bulls**tting me, or is that true. I had a 02 Nissan Sentra w/a sub and amp as part of the stock setup and my old Alpine hooked up just fine. I'm not looking into replacing amps and speakers right now. But when I do what speakers for the 6x8's would you recommend.

I can tell you that the mach 460 is a very different factory setup. I had a pioneer radio that was installed in my 95 cobra when I bought it. Whoever installed it (circuit city I think) did a real hack job, they bypassed all of the factory amps, there are three all together, one under the bottom deck that runs the 4, 2 1/2 speakers and two in the trunk that power the 4 6X8's. I had a hard time finding wiring diagrams but when I figured it all out I ended up not liking the sound, The bass seemed to muddy to me. maybe it was the fact that the speaker out puts were powered going into the amps and getting powered again, not sure, you may be able to bypass this by using the line level out of the JVC and the running through a convertor, but I opted to ditch the whole system and install all new. Not the route everone can or will choose, but I can tell you that if you don;t have alot of car stereo experince the mach 460 is not one to learn on!! I don't know alot about the deck you plan on but I so think that you can adapt the two together. when replacing the speakers remember that the 6X8s and the 2 1/2s work together almost like a component set. The 6x8 aren't coaxials!!! Good luck.

I know how to install stereos in the basic cars but I do think this one will be a pain. I'm thinking of taking it somewhere to get hooked up. I don't have 8 speakers but just 6. I figured the fronts were like a component set. I was just wondering how everything would hook up in the back of the JVC. Maybe I can take the factory amps hook ups and make them into an RCA and put them in the JVC. I'm also going to run some subs with my new setup.

They may have changed the Mach 460 some but my 95 did have 8 speakers. You don't see the other 2, 2 1/2" speakers untill you pull out the rear deck that they are mounted in. they will be next to the 6x8's.
