New guy with a question
First of all, nice site with nice rides. I have a 2002 GT and an 05 GT With 5 speeds as well as an 86 Cougar XR7 turbo 2.3/ 5 speed project. Even with a prosthetic leg I still have to have a standard. Since I just had to replace my rear end I'm wondering if towing my 02 in gear would damage the rear. Although I parked in the wrong space at work before sun up and I wasn't marked well company policy states I should have received a warning since it was not a space that warrants automatic towing. Just wanted to clear that up so as to eliminate thoughts that I irresponsibly park any old place and whine about it later. I don't know if it was a flatbed or hook but it was about 9 miles or so. The car was parked in first or reverse ( I always back in). Could a tow that far or even up onto a flatbed cause damage to the rear end that would show up later?
Thank you for any insight you can provide,
Chris

Welcome. I am not 100% sure on this, but I would guess it is going to damage something. If it was in gear, then that means the clutch is engaged. Everything would be trying to turn including the engine without the car running. The weakest part is going to give. Hey just noticed your also from CT
