65 mustang steering wheel color
Hello I'm Keri. I have a question about the color of a 65 mustang steering wheel. See, I bought one for my dad for Christmas for his mustang. He asked for white, so I ordered white from laurelmountainmustangs.com. But when I got it and he opened it, it was this off-white ivory color.
So I just called the company I bought it from to see about returning it in exchange for an actual white one. And the guy on the phone told me that for a 65 mustang there is no pure white one, that "white" is that creamy off-white color. He asked if my dad's mustang might be a 64 instead, which does have white, or if maybe his interior isn't actually vintage but has been redone.
Dad is pretty sure his is a 65 and the interior is original. So my question is, is this guy telling the truth? Is there no pure white color for a 65 mustang?

What they're telling you is basically correct. Very early cars came with a brighter white interior, but later ones had a more slightly cream colored white.
There is actually no such thing as a 1964 Mustang in a legal sense. The stang's were released about six months earlier than normal, as a "1964 1/2" model, and the early cars do have a number of production differences, and collectors consider them different because of that, but as far as the VIN # goes, they're all legally 1965 models.
I't's quite possible your dad's car is an early build model or that the interior was restored at some point (reproduction part color shades can be all over the place)
