So my buddy and I are getting ready to stuff a 5.0 from an exploder into an S-10 shell he has just to **** off the Chevy boys since they do it to us all the time. We'd like to retain the hydraulic clutch and have overdrive. I know the M5R2 Mazda trans has the correct bellhousing and is hydraulic, but the shifter location is about 10" too far back to make the swap easy.

Are there any other transmissions that will bolt up to a 302, have overdrive, and have a hydraulic clutch?

any transmission can be adapted to use a hydraulic clutch. I've seen it done for normally 100-300 depending on parts required.
