Traction Control???

Nope, it's there purely as a driver's aid. Make sure you turn it on when you're on anything other than asphalt though, wet leaves, some d**kface mowing his lawn and blowing freshly cut wet grass into the road, rain, snow, etc. Don't want to mess that brand new baby up

Traction control cost me my first Mustang. It overcompensated on a wet highway sending me spinning out of control. 2 guard rails and a tow truck later it was totaled. i make sure to turn it off now even on my SUV.

i was getting onto the wet highway following a minivan full of kids. some idiot cut off the minivan and slammed the breaks. minivan panic slammed the breaks and i let off the gas and got into the center lane so i didnt slam into the kids since i didnt think i would be able to stop in time. back end breaks loose just a tiny little bit and goes left a few degrees, nothing major. before i could do anything to compensate the back end is now going right and i'm spinning out of control.
when i first got the car i would intentionally break the back end loose (in empty parking lots) with and without traction control (since i had never had traction control before that) to get a feel for what the traction control would do for me. i like being in control because i know what the outside factors are and can compensate accordingly unlike the traction control that doesn't know if the road is wet/dry/snowy/gravel/etc. i'm sure if the road was dry and my back end broke loose like that, the traction control would have been fine and compensated correctly.

^^^^^Don't know about being a custom 2002 GT but I've been told with a good snow tire (all season) that a GT is manegable for winter driving. I had to buy a truck (02 F150 FX4) cause I just couldn't get it right..GL!
