Question Two questions in one

I'm looking to add a Yakima roof rack to my '03 and possibly a Curt 11041 Class I Ford Mustang trailer hitch as well or instead.
I'm wondering which exact products I need to purchase and if any can be properly installed by myself or do I need to go to a shop and have them install it?
Also, how much can I tow with my pony w/o damaging the car? I don't plan to tow a horse trailer, but 30 cinder blocks, wood boards or drywall and the such.

Quick google search for Mustang trailer hitch and found this on top: http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitc...eid=2003201511

I'm sure you can find others. Tow capacity is 750-1000lbs if I remember correctly. Have no idea on your roof rack. Have to agree with other poster, your poor Mustang.

Firstly, it's a car, not an animal, no poor anything.
Second, you must be awfully rich to be suggesting someone buys another car just to occasionally use it for larger things.
And lastly, what a childish group we have here! Grow up, if you have nothing to say that is helpful to the topic, you are just wasting time.

OK sassy pants, try this on.

The car is made and geared for performance street/light passenger car applications. The frame is a light unibody construction. The engine/transmission/rear end are built more for speed than anything, not having loads put on them.

I'm sorry but if you're expecting to haul around loads of building materials than you need another vehicle. You will definitely shorten the lfie of your car. You asked a question, the answers you got should suffice as to what most people are going to think about something using a mustang to haul around cinder blocks and plywood sheets.

Go get a mid to late 80's ford pick up. They're cheap, they're tough as nails, and I know for a FACT that they can handle more than their max payloads. Obviously you care enough about this car to join a forum and ask questions. If I cared that much, I would just get another vehicle.
