Paint Bubbling on the Hood
#11
I had this problem on my 2006 GT.
I removed the hood, sandblasted and/or sanded the affected areas, shot a coat of zinc phosphate primer on the bare sections. On both sides of the hood.
I then shot a strip of Plasti Dip on the front edge of the hood, both sides.
We'll see how this holds up. Looks pretty good, it also covered up some of the stone chips that were on the front edge of the hood.

Why you hood
Because in 2005 up until I think 2008 some of the factory hoods became contaminated before they were painted causing hood corrosion .Sad thing is it usally starts under the hood and works its way to the top before you notice it and most don't notice this until your warranty on vehicle is over Some people who got the hoods repainted only had the same thing happen again.Have too get new hood.Ford knew of this problem and did nothing to fix their mistake. There is a on going lawsuit against ford for awhile from what I read on another web forum. Ford even has a TBS out for it since 2006. So much for standing behind their product they make. What happen to Quality Job #1 ?
