I also use craftsman! Never a problem except for 1 faulty ratchet that was replaced for free in the past 8 years! Heck i still have my craftsman jack from about 5 years ago still going strong!

Mac and snap on.., i wish i can afford!!

Picked up a 24 piece 1/2" drive standard set, and a 17 piece metric set yesterday at Sears. The ratchets seem like great quality, and of course made in the USA. The standards were on sale for $60 and the metrics for $43.

Most of my tools are all Craftsman with some assorted Armstrong, Mac and Sanp-on. I always lean towards Craftsman when buying though. Best value for your buck, especially if you only tinker on the weekends like me.

I make my living working with tools, and 98% of them are snap on. I however have stopped buying snap on and now buy craftsman due to the cost. Also easier to pull into a sears and replace a tool then having to wait for the snappy dealer to come to the shop.

I'm in agreement with you on the snap on price. I've never even tried them, I work out in the field too much. I'd be awfully upset if I lost one. Plus, people have a tendency borrow tools around here. Most generally I get it back, but if I have to loan a $5 wrench to one of my guys to save myself a $500 service call it's no biggie if I don't get it back.

BTW, I should have made his a poll. So far looks like Craftsman would be the winner.

I am upset when I lose something. I lost a wrench not to long ago and it was 40 dollars to replace from snap on. I work by myself for the most part so I do not have to worry about other techs using my tools. And I do not lend them out.
The best is when you do a service call and you find tools that were left behind from a tech from some other company. I think craftsman (not the cheap stuff) holds up just as well as snap on.
