Default drove a camaro today

don't ask why but checked out a 2000 camaro v6 today (im still loyal to stangs i swear!! please don't kick me out!!) all it had done to it was dual exhaust (they removed cats though) and a K&N intake. But holy hell that thing was so fast compared to my sixer, totally caught me off guard and pushed me back in the seat (not like a v8, but was Significantly quicker than what I am used to)

Checked online and I got 150hp and the camaro has 160hp.....gosh does 10hp make that huge a difference??

I'm not going for power anymore, mostly just want cosmetics - but I want the acceleration of that camaro in my mustang (honestly it was a piece, had rust everywhere and lota electronics didn't work....but god i want that acceleration!!!)

Been reading on the forums and seems like 4.10 gears are my best bet, but I also hear that hampers MPG. Any other quick/cheap upgrades I can do to just get some more power and have my acceleration like that camaro? Why was that camaro so quick - I thought both engines are 3.8L v6 :S

thanks

P.S. the 2000 camaros look pretty nice imo - i really don't like the new ones

alright, i'll get some gears next month then. Is this right thing to order?

4.10 gears (98 auto)
for the speedo gear, do i need 19 or 20 tooth? both say 98 automatic.
and do i need the installation kit and gear or do i also need installation + bearing kit?

also, i know its recommended but how bad do i also need to get the trac lok done?

I had to have some work done on my car, and got a camaro rental for the week, well let me tell you was never so happy to get my mustang back

what a crappy car, dash sucks, if you tilt the wheel you can't read the top of the tack, or speedo. Visablity sucks, dash is cheep, radio, climate controls, info center, all make no sense. Always defaults to auto headlights, and just plane cheep

I seem to recall that they had a 200hp V6 back then. Friend of mine used to have like a '00 or something with a manual transmission and it was reasonably quick, used to chirp 2nd pretty good. The 3.8 they used in the Mustang back then had 10 hp less and definitely less torque; they can be made to be kinda quick if you mod the crap out of them but stock they are completely uninspiring.

My girlfriend has a 13 camaro LT. For a v6 they're pretty powerful note too. Has nothing on my stang though :-)
