I'm thinking of grabbing another Mustang when my Excursion sells, and I should have 10-15k to spend. Mid 2000's GT are available in that price range, but so are older New Edge Cobra's. Looking at the numbers, they're about the same weight, power, 1/4 mile times, interior space, and I like they way they both look.

Any input on pro's and cons of one over the other? I'm really not familiar with anything newer than 04 so if anyone has driven an older Cobra and newer GT I'd really like to hear your experience too.

Depends on what you like and are expecting out of the car.

Cobra will have the advantage of the 4V DOHC motor, a bit tighter suspension, better brakes.

What are you looking for out of the car? Daily driver? Fun weekend toy to tinker with? Racing at all? If so, what type: Drag, auto-x, road course? Do you want a car with mods done, or prefer an all stock car to start with? Do you plan to modify it at all?

I agree with LilRoush, it all depend on what you want with the car.All models have their pros and cons. test drive a few different models. See , if one has what you are looking for.
