need ac help bad
New to forums. I have a 98v6 mustang. Ac was blowing hot air so I went to put Freon in it and when it wouldn't take I realized ac clutch wasn't engaging. Checked all fuses twice. Replaced ccrm. Still didn't work. Jumped high and low side and it still didn't work. Checked high and low side with test light and it was fine. Next I'm going to run a wire directly from battery to clutch. If clutch doesn't engage then its a clutch problem correct? Would really appreciate any help or suggestions.

Not sure how you hooked up the test light, but one side of the clutch should be ground, which should mean the test light will be off on that side (when the clutch is supposed to be on) Do you have a DMM or ohmmeter?

No I Don't have a DMM or ohmmeter. I had the test light grounded to the battery and it showed light on both sides. With car running and ac on wide open I tried to jump the high and low side and clutch still didn't engage.

If you have power to the clutch when all is on, then the other switching should be good.
I have used WD40 to clean the clutch magnetic contacts and gotten them to work. I just sprayed it while running. Be careful of the spray. If that does not work, then it sounds like it is time for a clutch.

I disagree about the electrical being ok, if you are certain that the light lit on both sides of the clutch, it means the switch on the ground side is not working. Can you try to ground that side? (I'd use a jumper with a 5A fuse-that way you will not burn up the wiring if you accidentally jump the hot side to ground). I don't remember the wiring on that year, but I think the pressure switch provides the ground path.

What i did when the clutch ddnt engage was to run cables from the ac compressor directly to the battery just to make shure the ac worked. After i saw the ac compressor worked, i then realized it was a blown fuse. So yes if u connect it directly and it doesnt engage then you can try to fix it or just get another ac compressor at a junk yard like i did, only $35.
