Need Info I want to buy a Notchback!!
Hey guys and gals,
A few years ago I owned a 2003 Mustang GT however I had to sell it when the family grew. I have always liked the Notchbacks and I am looking for a new toy.
What should I look for mechanically and in the body (Rust spots) when purchasing.
What motor and tranny combo should I look for and what should I stay away from.
Thanks for any info provided.

Welcome, but you'll get more responses if you post this question in the Fox/SN section.
Otherwise, look for rot in the strut towers and front frame rails. The torque boxes for the rear suspension are a weak link if the car was abused, the welds tear apart. Check body and panel seems for even gaps. Most of these cars have been abused and the unit-body frames didn't like that.
Definiteily get the 5.0 (302) and 5-speed manual. The AOD (automatic ) trannys were slow shifting, power robbing and weak if not modified.
I could go on and on about the possibilities with these cars, but don't expect the handling and braking of your 03. Your gonna miss that lol.
