Default High Rev When Coasting InNeutral

I have a manual 2014 Mustang 3.7 with the performance package 3.31 gears. The car is 2 weeks old and over the past two weeks Ive noticed 4 times that when I am driving and put the car in neutral when coasting to a stop the revs jump up to between 2550 and 3500 rpm for about 2 or 3 seconds and then come down. it does not happen all the time and it has happened at different speeds and gears. I read about this issue on older Mustangs but could not find anything like this on newer ones. In fact there was a recall for this issue on 2006's. Anyone have or had this problem on newer Mustang? Thoughts?

Thanks.

Get to know the forums to see if others that have the 5.0 are having similar issues. That revving seems to be higher than what I have seen on my 2010 and read about others with the 5.0.

Since it is brand new, why aren't you taking it to the dealership with your concerns? If there is something wrong, you aren't helping things by driving around.

Totally different engine...
as the last poster said...if it's a concern, then take it to the dealership since it's still under warranty

Already have an appointment with the dealership. Just thought I'd check here to see if this was a common issue or not...I guess not.

Welcome to the forum, zexus! I'm Brittany, the Ford Canada Customer Service Rep. It's a pleasure to meet you!

I'm here to help. Have you already brought your Mustang to the dealer for diagnosis? Please send me a quick status update via private message along with your full name, VIN, dealer information, updated odometer reading, and best daytime contact number. Once I receive the PM, I will look into it.

Brittany
