So in my 02 gt when I take off an shift from first to second I hear a quick knock coming from what sounds like my drive shaft where it meets the tranny. Also when I start moving in reverse. It goes away and doesn't happen until I do the same thing any clue? Is it getting loose

Youll have to get under there and inspect the U-joints.

If those are good, look for worn bushings in cross member, tranny and motor mounts, just any kind of movement at any mounting point.
