T-5 hard to shift after acceleration runs...
Hi Guys,
Well I had my rear end upgraded this year (Auburn LSD with 4.10s) and the shop did a great job....rear end is tight and traction/accelration is really improved. The car jumps off 2nd and 3rd gears now...friggin beautiful.
Anyway, since I had the work done (5k miles ago) I noticed that every time right after a hard acceleration runs the car is hard to engage the gears...so down shifting and up shifting just takes more grunt to get the gear engaged. In fact 5th gear is the hardest and I don't really know why. I'm wondering if I lost some fluid along the way but I didn't think they needed to pull the whole drive shaft to upgrade the gears (only the rear yoke/flange) so I'm not sure where it would have gone. No leaks detected.
However once I park the car for a few hours the tranny shifts great, just like normal. I was startign to wonder if it was heat or fluid related since this was the case. Has anyone else experience this before? I have 2006 4.0 with the T-5 and 72k miles on her now. I don't think tranny fluid has ever been changed since I got the car with 24k on it.
Thanks,
Tom
