Default 2005 Radio Problem...

Hi! My 2005 GT Shaker system ate a CD. Took the radio out and got the CD out - problem is that when I plug it all back in, it cycles for about one minute every 15 minutes (it was doing this initially right after the CD was stuck, giving me a CD ERROR display) and the "slot 1" shows a CD in it continuously. Any ideas on how to get this to stop? I'm getting a '15 Convertible in 4/5 weeks, and I DON'T want to put any $$ into the '05.

The shaker head units are notorious for failing. If you do a quick search, you'll literally find hundreds of threads related to the Shaker system head unit crapping out. Ford has never recalled it because it's not a safety issue. Mine failed in my 2005. I ended up swapping it out for an aftermarket unit.

If you don't want to throw money in it, at least try throwing a CD in it and hope it stops haha

nobody (and I mean nobody) made an in-dash CD changer worth a damn.

That's a wonderful opinion.. Do you post anything else besides negative comments? Since I've been an active member on this forum, you've done nothing but completely ignore the OPs question and post snobby remarks. What use are you to any of us?..

if you've got a problem, put me the **** on ignore and leave me alone.

And it's not an opinion. I've worked for both Alpine and Sony in their OEM business units. I'm not joking when I say nobody put out an in-dash changer that was any good. They're all fragile and failure-prone. there's nothing the OP can do to stop the errors he's getting short of replacing the radio.

and if you're going to lecture people, you might reconsider having a username containing "yourmom69."

Go to your room. You're grounded.

Thank you for the help... got the CD out and now I'm going to ignore the problem and let the next guy figure it out... hopefully the 2015 system is better!
