Default 1965 intake and carb swap

I swap a 2 barrel for a 4 barrel on my 289 and now it only goes into low and second gear. It will not go into drive. A friend said there is a hose that suppose to go from the back of the carb to the trans.
Anyone know what is wrong with my baby?

Check your old intake for the vacuum line fitting. It may have also been part of the baseplate for the 2V carb. You will need to create a similar arrangement on your new intake (stock or aftermarket?). Then you can reconnect the vacuum line for the trans (which should still be there).

If the above doesn't get you back on the road, try heading over to the Classics section - you might get more input over there.
