Default 2015 Mustang 2.3L Ecoboost Recall

So...a bit of a gut punch.

Just bought this car and this news pops up days later.

Not a very serious recall, but a recall nonetheless. If you have purchased the 2015 Mustang Ecoboost then stay on alert for a possible phone call from your dealer.

From a very high level...

"Ford is bringing back 19,500 2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoosts for elevated underbody temperatures that could potentially damage fuel and brake lines."

Here's the article.

Yeah I saw this the other day. Sucks for the early adopters like yourself but it's already being addressed, that's good!

For me personally, I never buy the first or sometimes second year of a new model. It takes the manufacturers a couple years to get most of the bugs worked out like in this recall.

My 08 has had very few issues, 05 and 06 had tons of problems, 07 was fair, 08+ were best.
08 S197 GT Auto: FRPP Strut Tower Brace, FRPP Bullitt CAI, Bama 91-P Tune, VBX remaned valve body with Superior Transmission Shift Kit.
Pending upgrades: Shaftmasters Aluminum 3.5" DS, FRPP 3.73 gears, Axle back exahust (?)

This happens with all brands and models.

Stuff happens. Be thankful this is not a serious safety issue.

Its a turbo thing. My old SRT4 would get so hot it melted the transmission cable. Finally took header rap and fixed the problem.
