passive anti theft system
i have a copy of my original key with no chip and i broke my orig key in half, now i cant get my 2000 mustang to start, is there away to bypass the passive anti theft system, could i take the chip out of my orig key and solder it to my copy??[:@]

wait so you have a key which is broken in half but with a chip, and you have a full key which has no chip but was just a extra for the doors and trunk right? if so just take the full key and the half key to the dealership and pay the $50. to have them make you one that way you dont have a ghetto soldered key.

pull the fuse, for a temporary solution. Its underneath the dash in the top corner. THen just have a copy made.

Nope, cant just pull the fuse.
I have to spend about $300 whoppers to get my ECU re-programed without the Passive crap so i can start my new Mach1 engine, Not fun. Just have them make the new key for you, its about all you can do.

Soder???? Dude it just slips in. Its not connected to anything. Just pull it out of your broken key and put it in the key that doesnt have one. Its just a little white plastic thing.
