Default Clock Spring Connectors

I did a whole lot of research before beginning to replace the air bag and rcm. I found our clock spring connectors melted into the back of the blown air bag. Well it's a good thing by brother taught this girl some electrical stuff growing up My super quick fix was: Lucky us have a ford parts car in the shop yard. I checked to make sure it was the same connector and it was. I snipped them from the car and then started my project. I was able to snap the cover to the connectors off and very carefully. The connections to my Mustang had 3 out of 4 good to snap them over the existing wire leads. The fourth one, not so easy. I had to splice it in with a different colored wire that had a good lead at the tip. I intertwined the wire very nicely and slid a small electrical connector over the twined wires and crimped down snug with pliers. Snapped them in the new air bag. I replaced the rcm. (Pain to do rcm). I plugged the fuse to rcm back in, hooked battery up. Then prayed that they wouldn't blow. I turned ignition to cycle the computer and then stuck my hand over the steering to crank her up. It worked like a charm and no more pesky lights on the dash. I hope this helps someone in the future.
