Default 2005 GT Conv

I had a oil/fuel filter/tune up change a month ago. Since then my fuel has dropped to 10 mpg! I used to get 18-20. Have had it back to the shop 3 times and was told each time that they could find no leaks, etc. The mechanic, who works at an Ethonol Free station, insists its the fuel and I should use his only. I have never used anything other than Shell regular, and never had problems until the oil change/tune up. Any ideas??

The moderators will probably leave this thread open and delete your other one as this is a better location for it.

Just out of curiosity, do you smell gas at all outside the car ? Any small puddles or drips evident ?

No gas smells. But have noticed a small puddle near the drivers rear of car. It doesn't smell of gas tho?? Isn't that where the filter is? Fuel neck filler problem perhaps? I'm at a loss.

Yeah, I'd investigate that leak. Might not smell like real gas if your running ethanol blend by you.

Yea, I have not been using the Ethonol Free. Just regular Shell. I was wondering if he didn't really change fuel filter or if the one he did install is bad. I was thinking of changing it myself and see if that makes a difference.

I actually just replaced my fuel filter a couple months ago, and the new filter had a pin hole leak in one of the welds. Good luck
