New to Forum, Have an 2000 3.8L V6 issue, need help.
Ok I need help I recently purchased an base 2000 3.8L mustang for my daughter, it had I check engine light on so I checked for codes and it gave me 2 codes one for O2 sensor which I figured caused it recently had exhaust work done and the other was an Engine Coolant Temp, sensor. Purchased and was ready to install. When looking for location of ect sensor was not where it supposed to be looked all over the intake nothing,,,the only sensor I saw was a similar sensor but one pin under the power steering pump to the block ( I guess oil pressure switch). so after looking on line I noticed people saying newer models have a CHT sensor on Back of motor, so I say give it a look. And **** there was an sensor back there, weird thing it wasn't plugged in and some reason I don't see a harness plug. So looks like prev, owners did an engine swap I assume to an 2002 motor?? is there a way I can connect this switch?? I looked all over the front and i don't see a loose plug that would have went to the ECT, If the swap was done properly would the be an CHT plug?? if so how can I locate it???And side question does anybody have a maintenance manual I can download?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
