The FE's are expensive but this doesn't sound like you're trying to do this on the cheap and I don't know of anything that sounds sweeter than an FE at full song.

I'm not on a strict budget. I'd just like to use modern equipment for reliability, maintenance and drivability reasons. My dad is past wanting to spend his weekends in the garage and just wants to be able to take his grand kid to car shows, maybe power tour, hot August nights etc.

I'd rather spend the money and be able to hand the keys over to a relatively low maintenance car that can be driven across the country.

Well, that is a major consideration.

Once you get it set up and running an FE is as reliable as an anvil and will take a minimum of maintenance. If you want maximum reliability, build it like the Ford did and add an electronic ignition and you'll be able to drive that thing to the moon and back.

To many "IF's" for my taste. I feel real confident in a coyote with a couple psi.

nothing replaces modern tech. no matter what you do a coyote with boost will outperform, outmileage, and outlast any FE. dont get me wrong , i love FE blocks, but if you dont have one sitting in your garage, and you have to buy , new tech is the way to go.
