Not getting good mileage. generally getting between 11.5 and 13.5 mpg. Please advise on different things to do to improve mileage. I am not a car mechanic. Copier/printer tech. Your help is appreciated. Frank

Spend more time on the highway, and less time in lower gears.

If that doesn't help, it might be a problem with the car. How many miles are on it, and what does the service history look like? It might be time for a tune-up...

+1 ^^^

Does the car seem to run good ? Smooth idle, good power, starts easily, etc.

Is your milage based off all city driving or highway or an even mix of the two.?

are you using the OEM air filter? see if you can open the air box, its pretty easy (you can google it) and if it has an aftermarket or third party air filter, put a motorcraft air filter in - pretty cheap to get and can be had at your local oreilley's - also try to keep a lighter foot on the gas pedal

otherwise basic maintenance, oil change every 3k miles with a bottle of chevron with techron in the gas tank, engine air filter change every 30k miles (always use the motorcraft one), fuel filter change every 30k miles (not sure if the 94 has a fuel filter?), tranny fluid change every 50k miles (if its an auto), cabin filter whenever it smells (not sure if the 94 has a cabin filter?) - and your car should run forever like new

btw thats pretty cool, a 94 with only 58k miles O.o do those have a place in the odometer for hundred thousand miles? or do they just rollover to 0 after 99,999 miles?

Google "Pulling Codes Mustang" for step by step instructions on how to do it. See if any are stored. Then let us know what they are if you get any.
