Default driveshaft connections

my rear end uses a u-joint to connect to my driveshaft.

this rear, 8.8 94-98, looks like it uses something else. is there a way to make the newer rear use a u- joint or do i need to get another driveshaft?

The rear in the pic uses a flange. The driveshaft is connected to the flange via a u-joint, the flange is bolted to the rear.

The flange looks like this:
