And DAMN jugador give the guy a chance! Its that mentality and outlook on the engine swap that is most likely responsible for you still having that weak *** 2.3 you have.</P>

We are here to help those who are less knowledgeable not pick fights over stupid s**t.</P>

But i will say the whole spelling thing is a bit confusing at times. Its hard to decipher what some people are saying or asking when they mispell horribly.</P>

it's a turbo 2.3 and it's not weak at all. it's fast enough to be about the equivalent of a 302,not to mentionit hasa lot morebenefits. insurance is dirt, good gas mileage, car itself was affordable, a lot more moddable than you think, and the shock factor of it being less than half the displacement they thought it was when i beat em <IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0"></P>

also, im not trying to **** anyone off or anything, it's simply not as easy as getting another engine and bolting it down like most people with sixers that want to do the swapthink. i'm not saying you cant do it, but it's not as easy as most pass it off to be and it's not really worth the work in a new(ish) car like that.</P>

WTF?Hey can i get some of what you are smoking? Its worth what you put into it.It again is as simple as dropping it in as long as its a carbed setup. You can spend one day pulling and arranging everything for the new motor and by the end of the next day you can have it in and running. Its a little more involved with an EFI setup because of the wiring and such but still not anything the average intelligent car enthusiast cant do.</P>

No its not very sensible to buy a new car and then swap it over. But if you bought a v6 drove it and paid it off and now want a little more an engine swap is the best thing you can do and its not that hard.</P>

About that 2.3 yeah they are impressive for what they are.But a modded 2.3 and a modded 5.0 going head to head with the same amount of funds wont even be a fair contest the 5.0 will kill it.But i see where you are coming from.Im just not a fan of the "MOSQUITO IN HEAT" or "PISSED OFF BUMBLE BEE" sound that all 4 bangers have.Didnt you buy that mustang with the 2.3 turbo already in it as well?</P>

i wouldnt be modding the 5.0 to its fullest potential, most likely with the cost of the swap i would leave it as-is, so i see more logic in leaving it 2.3 and modding that to get more out of it...(thats what i mean). yeah i bought itturbo...why? <edited><editID>Jugador</editID><editDate>37996.9330324074</editDate></edited>

Just wondering what knowledge or past experience you had with engine swaps and how many you have under your belt?</P>

The cost of the swap?Theres no cost other than engine, tranny, the actual cost to put a V8 in my 89 consisted of motor mounts, cross member, tranny mount, and the radiator.Theres not a lot to the swap or the list of parts you need.</P>

The 2.3 turbo swap isnt exactly a good swap if you are looking for serious amounts of power. And contrary to your popular belief its cheaper to mod that 5.0 to twice the power of that 2.3 with the same amount of money.I got in depth with all the 2.3 turbo crap when deciding to swap and what to go with and the 2.3 was not a very good idea when compared to the 5.0.And i hope to god you arent running an A4LD behind a 2.3 turbo and abusing it!My A4LD went boom and it was behind a stock 2.3.</P>

I just dont see how you think the 2.3T is such a good idea in this day with all the aftermarket availibilty we have for the 5.0 and the so many different combinations. If you have gas mileage and insurance prices in mind thats fine but to be totally honest with you that 2.3 will never feed your appetite for power and speed like a good old fashioned healthy V8 will. And you still will be money ahead to go with a V8 rather than mod the s**t out of that 2.3.</P>

FF&amp;MM did a article way back called "TINY AVENGER" where they were able to squeeze out like 406HP from a 2.3T but it was totally not worth what they spent to do it.I say great if you have endless funds like them but thats not a very practical setup if you are looking for a screamer.</P>

And for the price of a healthy 2.3T you could have a 5.0 modded to the fullest or damn close.

right...the engine...the tranny...engine mounts...crossmember...tranny mounts...radiator...added up those arent cheap. actually it has a tranny from a 5.0so it doesnt matter. forget that i need an8.8too didnt ya?</P>

icompeletely understand the vast potential of a V8 over an inline 4, but im not looking for vast potential...im not looking for a "screamer"...im just looking for somethingto cruise in and whoop up on ricers that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. and actually, with a turbo car, its not much of a problem at all to squeezepower out like crazy, just gotta tune it.</P>

oh ya, and it wasnt a swap, the dude put on a turbo and intercooler and got forged pistons on the regular engineand better got atranny to take the beating. ill probably need a diff ecu if it doesnt already have one, but thats not much to worry about.</P>

and another thing...you can have a V8 all day long, but to ricers thats an excuse for why they lost. if im running the same crap as them then they got nothing except a nice view of my tail lights. </P>

bottom line:ilike it for the individuality...nobody's got one around here (in addition to economicality)</P><edited><editID>Jugador</editID><editDate>37997.1251041667</editDate></edited>
