Default Four to Five lug Conversi

What supension parts off of a five lug car do I need to convert?

I was once told that most Fox body componets would interchange but I want to be absolutely sure before I spend the money at the salvage yard.

Now, I can pull a five lug axle and put it into my axle housing,( same bearing, axle lengh, spine count right?) but what about drums and brake related things on the rear? What else would I need? Would it be better to get the entire axle housing with brakes and axles intact off of a five lug car?

How about the front? On my '89, the rotor has the bearings in it butare five lug cars ('94 and up) the same way? Will I need the spindle, rotor, caliper, strut, and master cylinder to opperate/actuate the front brakes or are the master cylinders the same and the brake boosters are just bigger (V-8 cars).

My car is packing some serious heat now 140 cu in hahaha, but real power is on the way (V-8) and better brakes would be benifical. Maybe rear disc but I'm still on a budget so it depends on what I can find salvage and what I can talk them down to. I have some 17" '96 Cobra rims that would look real good on my '89 and I got them for a great price with the intent on doing this conversion.

I KNOW THAT IT CAN, AND HAS, BEEN DONE BEFORE.

Please give me a shopping list of stuff I need for the swap. Any and all info and advise would be awsome.

Someone knows. And in advance,Thanks for the help.

I just did mine,4 wheel disc and 5 lug. Go to www.northracecars.com and talk to Richard Oben he knows his stuff and has good links to other sites. It won't be cheap if you want to do it right.

actually i hear it's quite simple and would just involve swapping the rear axles off an explorer and i hear on the front the 5 lug spindles bolt right on

yes as the aerostar have 1 longer than the other..or you can use a set of of a t'bird but you'll need rims about .75-1" more back space

ok so could you elaborate on the whole process?

what all can you get the rear parts off of and what years? do any of them come with rear discs besides SVO's? if they did have rear discs, would you need a stronger master cylinder or what?

what all can you get the front parts off and what years? do any have bigger brakes than any others?
