not a smart idea man.

widest i would go is 255 at most. but 245 is optimal.
although i wish stock rims were at leat 9". im putting 17x8 on my fox with over 300hp and have to settle for a 245 tire. best bet is to get a sticky 255, will be just as good.

i think 275 would be a safety hazard. you might have it blow off the rim.
most people will tell you same as i did.

optimum for 275 is 10 inch rim. even a 9 inch rim would be pushing it

you can do it, but i agree 245 is best. i have 275 nittos on my 8.5 inch wheels, and they fit good but on 9 inch wheels they fit better.

the tires will stick almost an inch and a half over the rim on both sides, you might not like it

Not all tires are the same size, one 275/40 is going to be differnet than anothe companies 275/40, i believe Nitto's run a little smaller than other tires

you won't gain any contact patch by having 275's on your 8 inch rims because the tire won't be shaped right when it's on the rim unless the measurement of 275 is bull****.
