Default 9/11 Tribute ride in FL

I copy/pasted this from another Mustang forum. A few of us from NC are talking about attending.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we (myself and local car clubs) will be having our annual Patriot Day run to honor the fallen heroes of September 9th, 2001 and those who risk their lives daily to ensure our Freedom and Security. This will be our 8th year running this event and we grow bigger and better every year. Last years participants grew to over 350 cars! We have had individuals and car clubs come as far as the Midwest to join us and I'd like to invite everyone on S197forum.

This years charity is Home For Our Troops. This charity provide assistance to the most severely injured service members who have been injured in combat operations since September 11, 2001 no matter what branch of military they have served. There is neither a cost to the soldier nor any mortgage to be paid.

For more information on this charity, please follow this link:

History

The Patriot Run was the collective idea of a bunch of Mustang nuts who wanted to honor and show support to those heroes who ensure our Freedom and Security, sometimes at the cost of life and limb. The first Run was in 2004 and was a huge success, so large that the event has garnered TV coverage. The idea was simple: get together a huge group of Mustang enthusiasts, lead a procession from the Tower Shoppes in Davie, Fl to Islamorada in the Florida Keys, and raise money to benefit charities that support our heroes. Each year a different charity is contacted and chosen to receive the proceeds raised. The proceeds are raised by raffles, registrations, shirt sales, donations, auctions, etc. The raffle prizes are donated to us by great companies like Steeda, BMR, SCT, Diablosport, Ford Racing dealers and various local performance shop including Power By the Hour, Torq and Blow By Racing. You can find more information here: http://www.patriotrun.org/index.html

While this event has been Mustangs only in the past, we have opened it up to all American Muscle cars (and some trucks). This event is something we want everyone to enjoy and it allows us to raise as much as we can for the charity.
