Xpipe on a 07 v6

I want to run x pipe on my sons v6 and turn the pipes out in front of the back tires has any one done this yet? Do I need mufflers to or are the cats enough?

I have a x-pipe on my car, but it's a bolt on catback system, I would put mufflers on or it's going to be very loud and raspy. Even if you just ran a set of glasspacks that would work.
