5.0 engine surges slightly at idle and during off-idle acceleration. Full tune up with cleaned Throttle Position Sensor and EGR valves. New air filter and cleaned gas filter. Good fuel pressure and 18 lbs of vacuum. Idles at 700 and does not bog when coming to a stop. Timing is correct. New Trans. Range sensor.


Also need an Operator Manual for 1995 GT convertible.


Please give me advice. This is the first Mustang I've owned and do not understand its peculiarities.

When you say surges slightly at idle is it more like hum hum hum kind of thing? If it doesn't stall out while in idle mod it should not be a problem. As these cars get older injectors wear out along with a bunch of other stuff. I have a 94 GT and it does the same thing spent hundreds trying to find the problem and nothing seems to work up to now, doesn't mean I will not stop trying! Out on the road car runs great can't complain. The injector emission system on these 302's was the beginning not a very reliable system by any means worked good when new, you still have one coil and a distributor with wires so moisture is not your friend. I have thought about going to carburation as a last resort but I can live with it for now. Good Luck !!!!
