Tranny fluid is good for the life of the car unless you're racing it and putting a lot of strain on it. That's why Ford didn't include a dipstick for transmission fluid.[:'(]

The transmission needs back-flushed with a machine that cleans the filters and replaced the fluid every 30,000 I believe.

Fill for life transmissions usually mean they are designed perform well until the warranty is over (fill for life of the warranty). I would stick to a 24k/36K drain and refill program for the tranny. However, with the way the drain plug/intergral fill/level tube is arranged, the procedure is not straight forward.

LOL... for a second I thought it said Changing Fluid GT MANUAL.. My mistake though, I just glanced at it..

heh, we pulled that trick on a friend of ours.. looked under her hood and told her to take it to a shop and have them replace her transmission fluid (she had a manual toyota tacoma truck). Funny thing is she actually did it and said that stood there for about 30 mins trying to explain to the shop guy that she needed her tranny fluid switched out lol...
