Default Ford Racing X Pipe?

Has anyone tried the X-Pipe from Ford? If so how did it work? Tough to beat the price. Here is the link http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=9049]

you know its not a full xpipe right. All it does is take out the middle section of you h-pipe. All it will do is change the sound a bit. If you are only looking to spend that amount buy catless H off of brenspeed (i have heard some good reviews on them) or if you prefer an xpipe i have an off road xpipe from pypes that im looking to sell. Not to happy with the sound of a catless x and im thinking of going with full lenghth headers wich come with the x pipe anyway. It was only on my car for a couple weeks and probably only drove with it on like 7 8 times. You can get sound clips off of brenspeeds website to hear what it sounds like.

Yes I know it isn't a full pipe. But isn't the only difference that you cut off the flanges from your H pipe to reuse? The only thing that I see that would make a difference is that this X pipe would still use the factory cats and not have hi flow cats. But from what I have read, the factory system is pretty free flowing as it is. Is that wrong?

Thanks
Randy

I have a Corsa X for sale if anyone is interested...I had it on the car for about 2K with the Corsa mufflers(sold) then went with the dynatech longtubes. I also have a set of Pypes Violator mufflers for sale which are a week old.

Does replacing the Cats with highflow and adding an X pipe require a tune?

I don't think its absoultly required however I have heard that an x-pipe like the ford one is worth only 3 horsepower. Believe it or not.
