My dad owns an SRT8 and they pull pretty hard on top end. I think that for the weight they have they are pretty quick. Our race will be as soon as the Borla catback and the CAI arrives to the SRT8. What do you guys think will be the results.

they are so damn heavy...but i have personally seen a stock chrysler 300 srt-8 run a 13.1 (don't remember the mph) at atco raceway. on that note the same guy ran mostly 13.4-5's that day. either way pretty impressive for a stock big family sedan....

srt-4s are not runing like we do.. they are GENERALLY low 14s car.. some very good drivers seen high 13s.

srt-8s are hig 12s, low 13s sec. car.

good kill.

I'm suprised you didn't call BS on this one. . .

a few bolton's on a GT and he walks an SRT8 from a ROLL . . .

i figured you would call BS all over this one . . . SRT8 should "MURDER" us
so a couple of boltons on a GT should still loose right???

ut oh, i opened it up again []

The problem isn't the power, it's the gearing. The SRT8's have taller (read lower number) gears than our cars have stock. With the extra weight these have over us, they need more mechanical advantage to the that barge moving. Lower gears means greater mechanical advantage, which is why so many of us have switched to 3.73 or 4.10 gears in our cars. I have no doubt that with lower gears and probably a torque converter, they could be high to mid 12sec cars right out of the box. The fact is that even with DOD, chrysler needed to put the taller gear in to avoid higher penalties for gas milage.

Ford went through the same thing with the GT500, that's why they come with a 3.23 gear - for gas milage listings to the government.

You should beat him pretty badly with your mods. Idk what a cai and exhaust do for those but i bet its not enough.

Thank You ROBGT I will race him next week since by that time he will have installed the exhaust and CAI. I,ve read that an exhaust on that cars give them 15 to 20 RWHP and CAI like 5. But do you think that with the size on my rims I could easily take him.
