Does anyone know where to get one of those pre filters that go over the air filter that will fit the C&L filter. I would prefer one in Black. And a link to it would be great.

It's simple, if you want to install another restriction over the filter install the stock box, problem solved. Why the heck would you want to filter the filter??

First of they are not restrictive. Secondly I want it for car shows as it gives a much cleaner look. They also help with keeping debris such aas bugs and such out of the pleats of the filter.

I hear ya, and I'm not trying to be a dick but any time you add a layer of anything on top of a filter it imposes some restriction, even if they tell you it doesn't and it also changes the way the air flows into the filter.

Now if it's just for car shows fine, but I have been using these types of filters for years and never had any bugs get caught in them, heck it's in a protected area under the hood, the only thing that gets to it is dust and heat.

I take mine off once a week and blow it out, it's been 6 months and it still looks like new.

I also have been using the K&N Gauze type filters for over 20+ years including Dirt Bikes and trust me when i tell you I have gotten bugs, and various other types of debris from weeds and other stuff in the pleats. Not sure how but obviously they have gotten under the hood while driving. You would be amazed at the things i have found in the pleats. As far as the restriction goes i am sure they impede air flow slightly but not enough to lose any HP or incoming air.

Here ya go man, I know how frustrating it can be sometimes to find stuff. Give them a call tell them what you want. Good stuff. I run a prefilter on my GT.
