Getting back on thread, since the CMCV is not the throttle body then what does it do? Are there linkages to these butterflies or are they spring loaded and rely on intake vacuum to open?

The CMCV plates are run off an actuator motor that rests on the backside of the intake. Controlled by the ECU / ETC.

Quick response, thanks. This presents another question, if it is controlled by the ECU, will the ECU start throwing codes if the CMCV is deleted? Is there some sort of adapter to fake out the ECU?

TIA

Without retuning it will throw codes and possibly not run all. I know that besides compensating for the lack of the plates, there are other configuration points in the tune such as the A/F, timing and other areas as well. Someone else may be able to give more specifics on this but I am unable to do so.

Heres a doosie of a question. I had the stock wheels which I believe were 18x8 or 18x8.5.
I put on the Roush wheels which are 18x10 and had to go with a bigger tire 275/40 18
Im not good with these types of analysis.

How much do you think I have lost?

You may have gained rather than lost. Your stock tires with the factory 18" wheels should have been BFG 235/50ZR18 tires which they state are 27.2" tall with 767 revolutions per mile. I compute that a 275/40R18 theoretically will have a diameter of 26.64", you can get the exact tire diameter from your manufacturers web site or from http://www.tirerack.com . With the tire being smaller the engine has to have more revs per mile in order to cover the same distance. This is similar to changing your gear ratio from 3.73:1 to 4.10:1 again the engine has to turn more rpms to go the same distance. You have gained faster acceleration and lost some top end speed.

You will need to find out what your new tire revs per mile is so that you can recalibrate you speedometer and ECU.

Hmm... Rotational weight / unsprung weight is the catch phrase here. Before (Running stockers) I pulled 285 / 310 on a DynoJet. Same mods with the Foose Nitrous 20's front and rear. 20x10 rear (15lbs heavier than stock) I pulled 275 / 290 on the same DynoJet. So, I added 30lbs of rotational mass and lost 10rwhp / 20rwtq.

Just so you know, using my scale the stock wheel / tire combo came in at 45lbs each, the Foose Nitrous 20x10 came in at 60lbs each.

Hopefully the new pullies, CMCV deletes and the aluminum driveshaft will put me close or above the 300rwhp mark.
This confirms my guestimtae that you lose approx. 8-10 HP essentially do to the unsprung weight. I would suggest to you though before doing pullies,CMCV Delete and the aluminum drivehsaft that you do a gear swap first and get that HP and TQ back to the wheels.

I plan on doing it that way. Gears then the driveshaft well both at the same time actually.
