Hi there,

I'm completely new and have the following question.
I ordered a '07 gt with the performance package from ford racing (listed in the catalog of mustang (www.fordracingparts.com)).
On the other hand, I just saw that the window sticker tells me that I have a 3.31 ratio limited slip axle installed.
Can anyone tell me what this means (yes, it's a manual 5 speed), and does this effect the performance in anyway.
Is it useless to have the performance kit installed on a 3.31 ratio?

I have no clue whatsoever and would like some urgent advise so I can go to the dealer and make some noise.

did you get the ford racing power pack? that doesn't come with gears.

i can't find the performance package on ford racing's site.

the 3.31 ratio limited slip axle is installed on the car as is. It showed up on some cars and on others' not.
I just checked my window sticker on-line and it shows that it's installed.
since I know nothing about this, I wondered if this was a good or a bad deal
(the car is waiting at the dealer, payments are done by the end of the week)

okay, depending the one you got, you're fine. that's the way it's supposed to be.

i assume you got the power pack and if you did not, please be more specific with what you ordered so you can get the knowledge you need to talk to the dealer with.

the 3.31 is standard in both transmissions. the 3.55 LS is an option you can have installed for the 5-speed.

edit: sure are a lot of alloy stangs now, lol. i thought i was going to have a sort of barely seen color around but that's not the case anymore.

I don't really know what your question is?? But the 3.55 ratio is a 100 dollar option, which I have. And I believe they are higher performance, But this shouldnt affect your performance package.

My question was the following:
I'd like to have some extra power instead of the stock power.
reading in the forum, I started asking myself the question if the 3.31 was to affect my performance (acceleration) in anyway.
If this should be the case, than it would be stupid to invest in extra power on one hand and throwing it away on the other side because of a "wrong" ratio.

So, I'd either would talk the dealer to get me a car without the 3.31 or have it changed.

well, of course having a better gear in your car will help with acceleration but the power pack you are getting will give you a nice boost. you should be fine and love your car.

it's most likely better you didn't get the 3.55's so later on you could just get the 4.10's without kinda wasting the money on the 3.55's.

Do they have a 2007 model specific kit now? It seems that M-2006-FR1 is specific to the 2005-2006 from the description, or is it also compatible with the 2007?
