I use 5w30 Mobil 1 w/motorcraft filter. Change it between 3-5k, closer to 3. These engines run hot and I feel better having the slightly thicker oil in it.

So this is with using their blend oil. So a full synthetic would be good for 7,500 miles no problem.... AND still be covered under warranty by Ford.

4 to 5K miles for me. i do a lot of city driving, when i had my Cav, i would change every 6 or so, but then i was doign alot of highway. the idea of a 3,000 mile oil change isn't true anymore, but like others have said, it wont hurt anythign either. if you drive your car hard or live in harsh conditions, being on the safe side is a good idea.

Full synthetic every six months, K&N oil filter. (I don't come close to the mileage.) This works out for me so that I change oil shortly before and after winter storage.
