Want a faster 1/4 time
I have a stock Shelby GT, I am getting times in around 13:80. Want to get it in the low 13's to the high 12's, what are some good mods to do with out going the way of a supercharger.
Will a 4:10 gear and shorter headers work.

4:10s will help don't mess with shorty headers go LT's if you replace headers at all.
What kind of HP is that car pushing now? What type of rear end did it come with? Is it auto or manual?

A 13.8 isnt that bad, but automatic GT's are running that. You really need to practice, you can probably get down to 13.5-13.6 with practice. Anyways here are the most important mods to do:
Good driver mod
4.10 gears
Good driver mod
intake with 93 octane SCT tune
Good driver mod
o/r midpipe
Good driver mod
catback or axleback exhaust
That about sums it up.

Heh, basically take all the FRPP power adders (intake, tune, midpipe, exhaust), buy new ones, and starting thinking on why you bought a Shelby GT instead of a regular GT.

Brenspeed CAI and tune(C&L) will get you 13.2's everything else stock . . .
did that one myself . . . good driver mod though
then long tube headers and you should be able to rip off some 13.0's or 13.1's . . .
sticky *** tires for a 12 . . .
thats my .02

I thought all Shelby GT's were 320hp, 3.55, manual. Only the Shelby GT-H comes in automatic.

As for the poster's question. I would look at suspension modifications first. Don't waste your money on a different intake. There isn't much difference between the Steeda / Ford Racing Intake that came with your vehicle and the C&L.
You'd be better off saving the $300 you'd spend on a different intake and putting the money into suspension modifications. I'd try lower control arms and upper control arms first. I went with lower control arms on mine, mainly because it's the easiest to replace, offers the most bang for the buck, and I wasn't interested in making the ride that much rougher. I'd also replace the tries.
You could look at getting a more aggressive performance tune from one of the vendors on the site. That's probably the next thing I'd do. Owning a tuner would give you a lot more versatility than you have now.
Long tube headers are good for some, I suppose. That's probably the last thing you should do, since the price per horsepower gain isn't very good. Of course, it depends on your state, too. If you have an emissions tests, then obviously, you'll never pass inspection with those.
