Spyder Shaft installed!

Spyder Shaft installed!
Just got back from a speed scream. One of the best mods so far hands down! No vibrations or noise at all (had it up to 120 ish). If anything I noticed less clunking noise around town. Why didn't ford do it this way from the start? I just came off night shift so my patience was a little short during the install. The 12 mm 12 point bolts sucked to remove. I could not get a torque wrench to clear the yokes to re-install them either. Used the "just before it breaks method". I should have the 4.30 gears installed Monday if all goes as planned

RE: Spyder Shaft installed!
I really struggled on4.10's or 4.30's.On the rareoccasion I take it to work I have a 22 mile interstate drive.I can bypass the intersate if I think I need to.But I am alsoclose to a drag strip and plan to race it some.Still unsure of my decision. But I got the gears and stuff to put them in so no turning back now! I amadding charge motion delete plates as well. I am going to try and give the gears an honest break in period. But I will post when I have an opinion.

If you plan to stay off the hwy go 4.30s but 4.10s are still good on the hwy. But Idon't think I'd go much shorter than that if I did a lot of hwy driving. But if you plan to run a twin screw or turbo you may want to get slicks to handle 4.30s on the track.

the difference in the 4.10 and 4.30 gears by the time it hits the tires is measured by like thousands of an inch......i wouldn't worry too much about it... unless u know what to "look/feel' for u prolly would even be able to tell unless u had the rear cover off and looked at the numbers on the ring/pin

Hmmm, getting a torque wrench on the front bolts wasn't a problem. You were using an extension right? Now the rear bolts are a little hard with the exhaust pipes on. I'd recommend disconnecting one pipe to make it easier to torque them.
