Need some help installed 6 speed and 430 gears now the procharger doesnt build boost in first gear every once in awhile it will . I ve taken it to a shop and said it was the throttle body( Replaced not that) They check computer said it was fine? The car ran 11.60s now 12.40s Need help spent $300 still not fixed Could it be the gear?

yea the car runs great in all other gears.

well i'm no cetrifugal expert, but i wonder if the
s/c simply doesn't have enough time to spool
up, before the rpm's are so high you have to
shift.

maybe some of the centri guys will show up
and chime in

the s/c will spool, and doesnt have lag as bad as a turbo, cause it needs pressurebehind it to spool, the procharger is belt driven, so it should have boost.
how quick is your first gear, how hard does it pull, and what is your gauge (boost) reading?
how tall of a tire are you running at the track, if its a 26", thats more like a 4.70 gear, if not lower.
with 4.30s, short tire, its going to be really quick, but should still boost as normal.
Go through your first gear slowly, gradually building rpms, see if it boosts.
bring it to 3k, and hammer it, and see if it holds it...

just got done test driveing,if i take off slow the boost will come on sometime I just put my friends blow off valve on to see if that was it nope.I have 26" et street tires. i put on my street tires and it does work better but i just spin. It seems like the car rpms goes up slow its not fast at all at five no boost. I was at the track and if it hooked up the car would bog down Then I would shift to second and take off My 60' best was2.03

Well yea of course, when you run through those gears the charger doesn't have enough time to spool up.

I have no idea how to remedy the car though...

so every other gear has full boost, with no other problems? no drop in boost or anything?

Do this. Go out for a spin, and shift into 2ng at 1500 rpm. Then wind it out to 6000, and see if it carries boost all the way

If it does then you know its not spooling up quick enough

Ummm, no matter what gear......6000 rpm = a given supercharger speed. It sure is spooling up normally (it doesnt have any other option, unless major belt slip), it just cant build any boost before you are shifting into 2nd. I have a feeling that if you reduced your final drive again, you would have boost in 1st gear.
