Yes, in my case it was. They said they come pre-gapped, but weren't.

Out of the box they are about a .042 gap which is not optimal. For 6-9 psi, you want to be in the .036-.038 range and for 8-12 psi, you want to be around the .032-.034 range and for over 12 psi, you want to be in the .028 range.

I have gone through 2 sets of HT0's in the last 2 months. Now I moved to Brisk. Brisk makes some that are colder than stock, picked up a set for $125. A lot of people told me a lot of the HT0's come bad right out the box and to ohm check them. Someone had to buy 3 sets before he had one good set of plugs.

Sorry but it's not true. If oyu got them from dyno joe, then it's not his fault. They told him they were the same heat range as the HTO's but they most certainly are not! The Brsik will work fine for lower boost levels (but so will the HT1's or stockers so why sepnd the money?) but for 12+ psi - the brisk are no good IMO for any length of time.

And you are correct, sort of, about the HTO's. I'll bet the majority of the problems seen with sets right out of the box are that they weren't gapped properly. If you don't gap the HTO's, then you might as well not buy them.

+1 on the gapping, I have heard people say they come gapped. I don't believe that to be correct.

In regards to the 12 + psi of boost let me add they don’t work well with a 125 shot either! Check my pictures on the preceding page.[:@]

PLstang, I have a couple of questions for you..........was it a dry or wet shot? When the plugs were new out of the box, did the bodies have the "blueing" on them???Do you know what the afr was on the bottle?? To me, looking at the pics, it was way lean. The porcelain is whiter than bone and then the blueing. Sorry to go off topic. Thanks

Casey
