I had a 93 Lightning, and 01 Lightning -both auto. BUT the 01 had trans work and a manual is cool but so is a slick, hard shifting auto. But the only time the auto was really fun was when you had it to the floor and it hammered each gear. A manual has better driveability and you feel more in touch with the car, and of course your inner self-a spiritual sort of thing.

Hate to beat a dead horse but I would have to say a manual.....I drive to work everyday between 1 hour n2 hours and its a real pain in traffic.....But its worth it when you get have as much control over the caras u have....Plus its a lot more fun....I think if I took my stang out on the weekend with a auto just to mess around I would pull my hair out(Boredom).....But thats just my opinion....As you can see we all have are own....

What is with the whole "manual is a pain" bs? It's the same shyt IMO... Your not driving your mother's 64 1/2 stang.. It's a 2005 +. The 5 speed isn't a bad setup..You can cheat, and after a while it becomes second nature.. You just can't put your man makeup on while in traffic is all... I mean if you can't drive one or would rather not drive one is one thing but to say it's too much work is BS IMHO... I've driven the one's ya'll are complaining about and I'll say the 5 sp in these cars are very userfriendly.. If you don't own a tremec and never driven one STFU because you have no experiance in the thing...

I think everybody is making stick against auto the facts is they are both great cars and it will come down to what you feel is best to you since you are going to have to buy it. I chose the auto because I had knee surgery and didnt know if I wanted to be shifting gears. You can mod both cars so that is not a issue. Just ask your self which is best for you.

I got a 5 speed, and actually think a auto would have been a better choice for me. yea i love runing it through the gears, revmatching and acceleating out of corners with the back end swinging with perfect control..... But when its 5:15 in the morning and i have to drive 25 mins to work... and then a 35 min back home in rushour, i wish i had the auto. For me, i would like to "cruise" but with my manual it seems more like work and almost rags the fun when u wanna just sit back, relax and forget. oh well... mabey the next one! -Jon
