get a used steeda cai, I did for 150 bucks, offa the 389 price tag.
homemade is a nightmare to tune, as well as the dam ebay ones.
I went through the same process with the powrtuner on my old 3800 GM...scanning and then making MAF table changes etc so the fuel trims would settle around 0. After hearing the replies here I'm going to get my K&N tuned or just buy a new package deal. Thanks for the heads up guys....I'm not used to a world of aftermarket solutions yet[8D]

building a homeade cai will cause you nothing but frustration, unless your last name is in fact, "JLT"

go with the sure thing. don't gamble on your intake.

I guess I'm going to have to find a dealer who doesn't care about intakes or flash tunes very soon[8D]

I support you building your own CAI. Its a good thing to be unique.

It'd be easy to do, however I went through the manual scan/tune process on my 3800 GM engine...since the 'stangs have all these tried & tested packages, it'd be soo much easier with similar end results.

No need to find a dealer who doesn't care. Just take it off, reflash to stock, and reset battery.

NO EVIDENCE!!

Just putting a air intake on/tuning voids your warranty?
