Default engine gurus...

Does anyone have a problem with engine smoothness fluctuating? Its been doing it since i got it, soI cleaned my MAF sensor and installed a new air and fuel filter and it ran like a raped ape. But it started with the smooth, rough cycle again... Let me describe it better. On one day it will run smooth as glass, all the way through the rpm's. The next day,or the next drive for that matter, it will idle and rev rough... same amount of power, same exhaust tone, just a little more vibrations throught the shifter and more engine noise... any clues?

would an injector go out intermittently? Or would it just be out? also wouldnt that throw a code? Im under warranty, and Ill bring it in once i have an idea on what it could be. Ford would have to witness the change, and Im not sure what triggers it... maybe temp? or humidity? I can drive to work smooth and happy only to drive home at lunch wondering why its so rough.. Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions, I like to be 99% sure of the problem before I tackle it or bring it in...

oh....what i mean is, maybe some debris in the
fuel system that's partially clogging an injector....

i figured thats what you meant... when i cleaned out the gas... wow! those things work! the clean side, was almost white, the gas from the dirty side was black... i figured that would fix the problem... but no... today ive got a little rougher idle...

ok... next time you are in your car, cruise at whatever speed, then turn on the A/C. The car will run a little more rough... you will hear the engine and tranny a little more... That is my best description... i wonder if the a/c compressor is staying on after i turn it off... Is this a usual scenariofor fords? or mustangs for that matter?
